Contest Information
The contest ends at 11:59 pm EST on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.
Winners will be announced weekly, beginning Thursday, November 7, 2024, until Thursday, May 8, 2025.
DM Injury Law’s Teacher of the Week contest allows members of the community to nominate exceptional educators for the impact they’ve made in the lives of students.
We’re excited and proud to foster a space where elementary, middle, and high school teachers are recognized for their dedication to their craft and students. The compelling stories that are certain to emerge will highlight some of the most inspiring, hardworking, and impactful individuals in our community.
Please keep print nominations between 525 to 750 words and video essays between 90 seconds to 2 minutes.
All submissions must adhere to contest rules.
​The contest deadline is May 6, 2025.
Winners will be notified weekly beginning November 7, 2024, until May 8, 2025.
Contest Topic​
Describe a K-12 teacher who exemplifies excellence in the classroom, leadership, creativity, community involvement, and dedication on behalf of Kansas City Metro students. Share a great story or give an example of how your teacher has made a difference.
Contest Prizes
The Teacher of the Week winner will receive:
- $250 Visa Gift Card
- DM Injury Law Prize Pack
- Special Recognition on DM Social Media and DM Digital Billboard
- An Award Certificate and Presentation of Gifts at Their Winning School

Judging Criteria
All submissions will be judged by a judging panel consisting of the Sponsor’s staff and/or designee based on the following criteria:
For Print Essays:
- Tells a compelling story (70%)
- Completeness (15%) – Did you fully answer the prompt?
- Writing quality and grammar (15%)
For Video Essays:
- Tells a compelling story (70%)
- Completeness (15%) – Did you fully answer the prompt?
- Speaking Ability (15%) – Were you persuasive and confident; clear, concise, knowledgeable; and logically explain the story?
Contest Policies​
All entries must include a completed online registration form and be submitted via upload by 11:59 pm (EST) on May 6, 2025, to be eligible for judging. The DM Injury Law Firm is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, damaged, illegible, or incomplete submissions.​
By entering, you agree that your entries will become the property of the DM Injury Law Firm and will not be returned. The DM Injury Law Firm reserves the right to use a winner’s name, likeness, and biographical material for advertising and promotional purposes in any media without geographic or time limitation, and without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
